GRO Marketing Committee Meeting Minutes

Date: June 5, 2018

  1. Meeting Location : 8:00 AM @ Crex Meadows Visitor Center

         a. Attendees: Nicki Peterson, Lauren Finch, Halle Pardun, Gordy Lewis, Amelia Johnson, Kelly Gerber, Ben Binversie

  1. Review Old Business:
    1. Final review of committee purpose statement and goals. All in agreement to leave as is.
    2. Discussed feedback from GRO May meeting……not a lot of feedback but what was provided was positive.
  1. Current Business:
    1. Tactical
      1. Team decided to focus on completing the Trail Kiosk project and the Grantsburg Fire Hydrant Places of Interest Map
        1. Bike and Water Portions of Kiosk including pictures  Nicki to reach out to local contacts
        2. Wildlife portion and pictures  Lauren
        3. Main Pictures Focusing on River, etc  Halle, Amelia, Gordy to reach out to Northwest Passage and also St Croix National Scenic Riverway
        4. Hydrant Places of interest Map/Brochure  Kelly brought a template idea from Osceola; Ben to contact Paperworx (the printer) or Osceola Chamber to see who and how it was created
        5. Pictures of Saint Croix Falls Kiosks for benchmarking  Ben
    2. Strategic
      1. Look at different methods used to communicate community events, etc
        1. Kelly will look at a handful of local communities to benchmark
        2. Was suggested to use the “Connect Communities” network to reach out and see what other communities are doing across Wisconsin
  2. New Business:
    1. Next Meeting is Tuesday, June 19 @ 8:15 AM in the Crex Meadows Visitor Center
    2. Committee members will bring what they worked on.
    3. Committee will review pictures and layouts for kiosk and put a draft proposal / kiosk together at this meeting.
    4. Nicki will invite the trail kiosk designer, Linda Schroeder, to be a guest attendee at the June 19 meeting.
