Agenda item: Streetlight banners and downtown project
Kelly sent an email confirming that all the funds are raised to purchase banners for Madison Ave., Pine St., and Oak St., going towards the Country Store. Nicki brought the revisions from the graphic artist designing the banners. They looked great, but we would like the artist to modify the colors to coordinate with the other banners the committee selected.
The downtown project is at an endpoint for the winter months. We have a few places scoped out for bench locations on Madison Ave, but we’ll need to confer with the business owners and the donors of the benches. Potential locations are: near the Community Bank shelter, near the Senior Center sidewalk extension, near the old Fiedler Ford building on the west side of town, near Country Café and near the hardware store.
Agenda item: UW Extension Façade study
Todd Johnson of UW Extension reported that there has been nearly 300 responses to the online survey. Todd will meet with the Village Plan Committee, 5pm, Monday, December 9 at the Village Office. GRO members and downtown business owners are also welcome to attend and give feedback. Todd will share results of the survey and look for community input to sketch ideas for Grantsburg’s downtown district.
Agenda item: Campground expansion
Dale is waiting on the village to provide him questions to which the engineers need answers to before the proposed area can be surveyed for the planned expansion.
Agenda item: Community Outdoor Recreation area
Nicki reported that she’ll accept a donation for the splash pad project on December 4. The donor has asked that their name not be revealed until the award date.
