Agenda item: Update on CDBG project
Dale and Kristina gave a recap of the Village board’s meeting with downtown business and property owners March 18 meeting. Dale pointed out that we’ll need to make certain large trucks will be able to drive down the main street once the street enhancements are in place. The south alley is too narrow for some trucks to make the turn. Kristina brought up that the Village has designated Robert Street as the truck route into downtown.
GRO members are helping to select light posts and are working to have banners manufactured for those light posts.
Agenda item: Façade improvement project
Students from UW River Falls will soon be returning to assess the 20 buildings in the downtown for their report in cooperation with Todd Johnson, Land Use and Community Development Specialist.
In person and online interviewing of downtown business and property owners for the project has just begun and will continue over the spring with members of GRO.
Agenda item: Community Outdoor Recreation Area
The subcommittee meet on March 13. Village trustee, Greg Peer is leading a fundraising effort for the splash pad with Grantsburg Rotary. Construction of the Fitness Trail will resume as weather allows.
Agenda item: AARP Community Grant Challenge
Ben will investigate applying for the grant for enhancements to the trail kiosks.
Agenda item: Brochure of Grantsburg area map
Pam Davies will be working with Tracy Klatt, Burnett County Land Information\GIS Technician to create a map of Grantsburg places of interest. The idea is to have the map available at the new trail kiosks, local businesses and available to download from the Village website.
