The new sign is up, working, landscaped, fenced, and done.
A donor plaque will be added in October. (can’t finalize this until we close up with last two donors)
Cary Oachs is going to work with us on moving/installing the existing sign. It is removed and it survived.
Bob is going to convert it to use LED bulbs while down. The committee will pay.
Bob/crew will touch up the area with black dirt and seed. The committee will pay any materials.
I need a volunteer to paint the metal frame of the existing sign. It might require a little sanding on some rusty spots, then prime/paint purple. Could either use Rustoleum spray paint or brush-on. Any volunteers?
Right now, it is a faded pastel purple. Not sure if the purple should match the plastic front or if it should be lighter to differentiate it from the plastic front. Any ideas or volunteers to investigate the color? The committee will pay for the supplies which can be found at Darryl’s HW.
The new location is between the intersection of James/Johnson and the GHS parking entrance. The school wants the sign to have a brick structure similar to the prior, but better matching to the school. Cary, how/where do we find/select bricks?
We’ll need to define/install the electric line to this sign. I am meeting with Bob on Tuesday.
Funds: still need 3 donors to come in. Then we’ll have $56K.
Expenses: around $48K for the new sign/etal, expect $6K to move the existing sign, then we’ll see what is left.
Thanks, Allan
