Agenda item: Light post banners and benches for downtown
The banners have been ordered for light posts on Madison Ave., Pine Street and Oak Street. They will be put up this winter. An offer was made to donate funds for half the cost of a bench, about $550. ½ We’ll look for another donor to match.
Agenda item: UW Extension Façade study
Todd Johnson of UW Extension will meet with Dale Bistram in late February to discuss a façade plan for Dale’s business. Once that plan is done Todd will offered to create plans for other interested downtown businesses.
Agenda item: 2020 Rural Development Initiatives
Kelly brought the Rural Development Initiatives application to the committee and has said she’ll work on applying.
Agenda item: Wayfinding signage
The committee discussed current community signage. At future meetings we hope to brainstorm ideas for updating or adding anchoring signage at the east and west ends of town.
Agenda item: Community Outdoor Recreation area
Kelly is working on scheduling a meeting with school administration to work on fundraising ideas for the splash pad fund.
Other: New Burnett County Economic Director, Richard “Dick” Hartmann gave the committee a rundown of his positions and upcoming tasks.
